This birthday post is for my very special mother. Growing up I was lucky enough to have a stay at home mom who could do everything for me and our family. Home cooked dinner every night together as a family, done. Needed a ride to a practice or after school function, done. Extra errands to run, done. Laundry, done. Baking, cooking, cleaning, sick and need to come home? Check, check and check. Super mom. She did EVERYTHING and then some. And the truth is she still does! Now she's a Grandma to my brother's children and they are fortunate enough to have her for a sitter, no daycare needed. And who watches my pooch when he needs some extended supervision? Bring him on over to his Grandma's house, fur babies are just as welcome and treated just as equal. My mother is the definition of a giver and will go above and beyond to help out. Sometimes I wonder when we stumbled into those hard times that so many families go through how she managed it all with two kids on her own. Those are things you don't think about as a child and now that I'm grown up it just baffles my mind the way she stayed so strong. I'm so proud of her and I so blessed to have her for my mother. I've been so lucky to have shared countless travels around the world together, mother and daughter, no plan in mind, just a country we want to see and go! They remain some of my fondest memories and I'm so glad we never hesitated to take those trips. Thankfully I don't think the travel bug in either one of us intends to leave anytime soon. Who knows where we'll end up next! Happy Birthday to my Super Mom, who never ceases to amaze me!
